World Record Certificate for taking part in the Largest Self-defense course. San Academy, Narayanapuram, Pallikaranai has received the World Record Certificate for taking part in the Largest Self-defence course. The prestigious award was conferred to the School Principal Ms. Sujatha Saravanan by Sri. Rabiah Baalbakhi - Chief Operations Officer, Elite World Records, Lebanon. Over 1036 schools enrolled in the course from 23 districts all over Tamil Nadu with 6,09,039 student participation. PET Teachers training and 72 steps from our ancient Martial art Kai-Silambam were practiced that will aid the muscular strength and physical fitness of the students.

CBSE Science Exhibition

CBSE conducted its National Level Science Exhibition at Suncity School, Gurugram from 16th to 18th January 2020, on the main theme, ‘Science, Society and Environment’ and Sub-themes: ‘Agriculture and Food Security’, ‘Energy-Resources and Conservation’, ‘Environmental Issues and Concerns’, ‘Mathematics and Everyday life’ and ‘Disaster Management’. San Academy, Narayanapuram, Pallikaranai, added another feather to its cap by participating in this competition along with 600 other schools. Two teams, one under Resource Management Category (Mohammed Faraaz Naizer Bakir - Class IX and Tharun Adithyan - Class VIII ) and another under Waste Management Category (Chandanasree K P and Angelin E Tanya of Class XI), represented San Academy, Pallikaranai. The team under resource management category won the fourth position adding pride to our School.

San Academy Pallikaranai hosts Chennai’s first Changemaker Day to create young changemakers

San Academy Narayanapuram, Pallikaranai, hosted the "Changemaker Day" celebration with Ashoka Innovators for the Public on 31/01/2020. This prestigious event was co-created by San Academy, Narayanapuram, Pallikaranai, and Ashoka Innovators to motivate and inspire the students and to help them to learn about change-making, social entrepreneurship, empathy, and creative problem-solving. More than 800 students from the school attended Changemaker Day.

The event featured eminent social entrepreneurs from across the country like Professor Beena Chintalapuri, Founder of Unnati, an organization working towards the reformation of prisoners, and Ms. Shreya Pareek, Founder of The Stories of Change, a digital platform to document detailed stories of change and impact. The event also witnessed the presence of 20-year-old Ashoka Young Changemaker, Ms. Disha Shah, Co-Founder of Inner Goddess, a start-up that is working towards increasing female financial literacy. The speakers enlightened the audience with their changemaker stories and inspired them to take action.

The school also hosted an Idea Pitch Competition for students, where 10 students were shortlisted for the final presentation. Out of which 5 students Akshay Khanna Reddy C.S, Humaira Aisha U, Mohammed Faraaz Naizer, Tharun Adithyan Y, Shreya .S of classes VII to IX were awarded Merit Certificates and Momento.

Talking about Changemaker Day, the Principal, Mrs. Sujatha.S added that it is a part of San Academy Pallikaranai Narayanapuram’s vision to create change and to help our students to become change-makers. We are glad to host this event with Ashoka. We hope that Ashoka Changemaker Day becomes a regular feature in our school and Chennai.” Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Yashveer Singh, Global Director of the Ashoka Young Changemakers programme said, “Ashoka conducts Changemaker Days all across the country and helps teenagers to realise their potential and make initiatives to create a positive change. These events are hosted by some of the most aspirational high schools and universities in the country like The Doon School and San Academy Pallikaranai, Narayanapuram who are leading the way for other schools in redefining education. It was amazing to see the enthusiastic response from the curious minds at San Academy and we plan to continue creating this change-maker culture here.”
