As we plunged into the Library Week Celebration at San Academy Tambaram, 25th of November shone a spotlight on the thrill of stories the children had been reading in their academic year.Library week celebration intends to invoke the importance of reading and enhance language acquisition, communication and sharing information and ideas. The joy of reading was experienced throughout the Primary schoolas children from grade 4 ,5 and 6 brought their favourite books from home to share and read. This was an efficacious way to stir up the intellectual curiosity of every child.
Apart from this there were story telling sessions held for grade 3 and 4. A beautiful way to learn and express themselves! It provokes literacy skills and ignites the inner story that is within each child. The ability to be descriptive is not something that everyone is good at naturally. This trait needs to be nurtured gently at a very young age.At San Academy Tambaram children are buoyed up to read their favourite book from the library every week, this method aids in grooming a child’s word building and speaking skills, not to mention, the fun it entails.
Bookmarks were made by grade 1 students and they were at their best to showcase their creativity and talent. Other activities like word puzzles and essay writing were also well depicted. The skill that was nestled in children found its way through this celebration.
