An event like this cannot take place overnight. The wheels started rolling weeks ago. We have been fortunate enough to be backed by a wonderful group of teachers who were able to visualize the events in their mind’s eye and brought it to reality. The audience present were welcomed warmly and taken through the journey of San Academy Kamakoti Nagar. The Principal briefed the audience with the vision of the institution and holistic learning programmes; highlighting the academic and cultural achievements of the school students with the help of a well created PPT presentation. At the end parents were assured that their wards were a confident lot and were given the right values.
It was a moment of pride when the students were awarded prizes for their scholastic and co-scholastic achievements, amid thunderous applause from the audience. It is no snall achievement to attend school daily and students with 100% attendance were recognized too. Teachers were lauded for their dedicated service at the San Academy for five years.
The theme of the day was explicitly explained at the beginning of the programme kindling the expectation of the audience.
Based on CREATIVITY we had the Opening dance which had the classical flavour, Kathak. Here the skills were adapted and changed through the ingenuity and innovation required to perform for the new generations of students. The Ballet, an artistic dance form performed to music, using precise and highly formalized set steps and gestures, was characterized by light, graceful movements mesmerizing the audience. The Finale dance was a boisterous performance which energized the audience. A captivating performance was presented by the students of Shadow play. They easily maneuvered to resemble entirely different shapes, using clever and strategic manipulation of space and light. These amazing and cool artwork had the audience spell-bound. Other dance forms involving creativity were Waacking (including martial arts) and B-Boying (using difficult beats).
Based on CRITICAL THINKING tiny tots from Class II spread the idea of ‘Happiness and Togetherness’ through yellow colour (Smileys), enlivened the beauty of nature through peacock dance, extend the theme of Peace through white colour, and Celebrating the Environment – The Essence of Life.
We at San Academy COLLABORATED different Asian countries, with different cultures, brought together to form a single continent. The broadened the understanding in the minds of the audience of a “greater good,” which can lead to world-wide success. The countries brought onto the stage were China, Philippines, Kazakhstan, Nepal, Armenia, Turkey and Thailand.
COMMUNICATION is of two types:- Verbal and Non- Verbal. A Mime on the impact of adverse conditions was tastefully presented. Commemorating the 150th Birth Anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, the Tamil Skit revolved on what would be the scenario if Gandhiji appeared in Chennai for a day. The story thread had the audience captivated. Merchant of Venice – Though the play had most of its dialogues as poetic verse, we had the children presenting the story in the play form. Antonio, Bassanio, Portia, Nerissa, Prince of Morocco and of course Shylock brought the stage alive.
The choreography for each dance was unique and was assisted by well-chosen costumes. Teachers’ efforts could be seen as each item had a distinctive background, special props allowed to drop in from ceilings, and apt settings given on the stage. Make up was done with so much perfection that it brought out the emotion the particular event was supposed to showcase. The students did not lose the opportunity and used the platform splendidly which made the audience realize the relentless hard work that went into it.
The Chief guest gave a short speech giving an insight to his personality. The programme culminated with the National Anthem.
SIXTH ANNUAL DAY OF SAN ACADEMY KAMAKOTI NAGAR
Classes: KG TO 3 & GRADE 4 TO 12
Theme: ENCHANTED WORLD & BIOSCOPE - Picture Abhi Baaki Hai
Date: 12.11.2022
The special and memorable occasion of San Academy Kamakoti Nagar's Annual Cultural Fest was celebrated on 12 November 2022 in a grand manner at Jeppiaar Auditorium. While the visual treat of classes Kindergarten to standard three was held in the morning the grand bonanza for classes four and above was conducted in the evening. Each had a theme of its own.
The theme for the morning show was "The Enchanted World" and all the programmes were related to the 21 stories delving on mythology, fairy tales and folklore in the book series of the same name. One could visit the land of yore, castles of kings and queens, world of witches, ghost and extraterrestrials, the land of Disney, dragons and beasts and all the fantastic creatures featured in the series. While the little ones did the anchoring for each programme, there was sufficient support from the teachers too. The props displayed were striking. The backdrop was changed according to the story chosen. We had the Gulliver Travels, Ocean creatures, castles, and backdrops to suit our dolphins, toys, insects, mermaids, caterpillars, seaweeds, Spidermen, fairies, Halloween pumpkins, dragons, unicorns, ghosts, beasts, aliens, pirates, Kings& Queens, lilliputs, pandas, smurfs, witches and wizards. The Grand Finale of Aladdin mesmerised the audience. The students were greatly inspired and encouraged by the presence of their parents, who gave a big round of applause after each programme. Every performance was preceded by an accurate description of the characters and story and the students brought each persona to life.
We had a distinguished personality as a Chief Guest, Dr. C. Satish, Director of the Paavai Group of Schools in Namakkal. His speech was a great motivation for the children, as he depicted the path of his journey which consisted of 30+ years of experience in the field of education. He emphasized the role of parents in moulding the child’s life.
The evening theme was "BIOSCOPE - Picture Abhi Baaki Hai!!!". The audience entered the Celluloid World and they could witness how movies evolved from the silent era to one with various special effects, how they evolved from a novelty show to a full-blown entertainment industry. While the children gave an introduction for the forthcoming programme with the initial groundwork, the teachers provided the audience with more information.
After a powerful welcome dance, the entertainment moved ahead with a brisk pace. Two documentaries, prepared by our staff, portrayed the different technological developments which helped in the advancement of movie making. The patrons could watch the changes that took place since the early 1900's on screen.
As would be apt, the entertainment started with the precursors to cinema - and that is, stage dramas followed by shadow play with the concept of the World Wars. Then it moved on to the silent era of Charlie Chaplin and the classics which move the audience to this day. The grandeur of the song "Sange Muzhangu" was brought to the stage. With the birth of superstardom, popularity of stars was scaled and they became famous. Some of these actors got mention along with their dance numbers.
But that was not all. Various genres were explored and presented judiciously. These included - Villains, Comedians, Sports, Science Fiction, Ghosts and Zombies and Social Issues. Music Directors and singers were honoured too as the school choir, with a live band, sang songs by musicians from M. S. Viswanathan to Anirudh. Two plays were enacted, which enthralled the audience - The evergreen "Murder in the Orient Express" and the historical extravaganza "Ponniyin Selvan"
Kalidas Jayaram, eminent young star of Tamil and Malayalam film Industry graced the occasion. He was happy to be a part of a Fest where the movie was the central theme.
In appreciation of the remarkable performance in the academic field and those who were regular to school, the students were facilitated. The Annual Report was substantiated by PPT with ample photographs.
When the day ended, the teachers, students and the supporting staff were deeply content with the standing ovation they received for the mind-blowing performances and also the praise they received from the Chief Guest and the audience. Hats Off to All those who made the day a memorable one.
SEVENTH ANNUAL DAY OF SAN ACADEMY KAMAKOTI NAGAR

Theme: MOSAIC MANIA, FASHION FIESTA, G20, TWO SIDES OF A COIN
Date: 14.10.2023 & 28.10.2023
"Entertainment is the key to connecting souls and spreading joy."The special and memorable occasion of San Academy Kamakoti Nagar's Annual Cultural Fest was celebrated on 14 and 28 October 2023 in a grand manner at Anna Centenary Auditorium where the enchantment unfolded and transported the audience to another world! The event was held in installments of four, across two days, each focusing on a particular theme. Every one of the episodes had powerful opening dances and finale that accomplished a sense of fulfillment. The welcome speech was always followed by the San Band which set the tempo for the morning/evening. The visual treat that emerged had the audience glued to their seat.
The theme for the Nursery and Kindergarten was "Mosaic Mania". As photographic mosaic is a picture that has been divided into many sections, each of which is replaced with another photograph that matches the target photo, their Annual Day was an amalgam of various sub-topics resulting in a grand result. Their canvas included classical, salsa, hip hop, waltz, Mexican dance, Samba and rock and roll. We were transported to the world of the enchanted forest, fairy land, fantasy carnival and the circus. We had a peek at their beach party, met with robots, and super heroes like Spiderman, Superman, Supergirl, Captain America, Captain Marvel, Hulk, the Mythological characters and Legends from the Norse Mythology. The audience was taken on a space adventure too
The theme for Classes I & II was "Fashion Fiesta". The entire programme embarked on a captivating journey through the ever-evolving world of style and they celebrated the fascinating history and transformation of fashion. Witnessing the agenda had everyone understand that fashion isn't just about what we wear; but it's a reflection of the times we live in and the changes we embrace. There was a good supporting explanation of how accessories have always played a pivotal role in defining our personal style, adding character to our outfits. We were enlightened to the fact that clothing, a canvas for self-expression, has evolved from the traditional to the contemporary. The diverse settings enthralled the spectators, with scenes from a winter wonderland and jungle safari, to a glow party, the Wild West, outer space, and beneath the sea. With each transition, one could witness participants donning a variety of costumes, each accentuated by carefully selected accessories. It was a journey from the vintage era to the futuristic, introducing us to rock stars, mermaids, and astronauts.
Classes 3 to 5 chose the theme "G20 - Bridging Nations, Shaping the World", as a tribute to the recently concluded G20 Summit held at Delhi.which has been ambitious, inclusive, determined and action-oriented. This vision seems to have taken root in the organizers' mind in planning the topics for each programme, which included G 20 Anthem, cultural fusion and also peaceful harmonies. The themes that were on discussion during the summit have been portrayed in their programs. Social issues like Environmental awareness, Women empowerment, Healthcare, Eradication of poverty, Education for all, were represented too. Inclusion, Sports, Digital revolution, Trade and Commerce were not left behind. The Needs of the hour like Energy conservation, Climate change, Ocean conservation, Unity (with the Russian-Ukraine conflict in mind) were also sketched along with dance of gratitude, street of carnivals, dances of leadership, of innovation and of hope.
Finally the theme for classes 6 to 12 was "Two Sides of a Coin". Each and every programme made one realise that we need to experience bad things in order to understand good things in life, that both go hand in hand. The point that if everything was hunky dory you will never value the things you have and feel blessed to have it in your life, was strongly portrayed. The students drove home the point that there was no good without the bad, no joy without sorrow, no peace without war, and there definitely couldn't be love without the sour taste of hate. You had to know what one felt like to fully experience and appreciate the other. Some of the topics under he scanner were: Friendship-Enmity; Grace-Harshness; Perception-Reality; Physical-Mental Health, to name a few. The English play "Good and Evil" and the mime "Order and Chaos" integrated well into the event and provided support to the dances to make the entertainment wholesome.
While the students did the anchoring for each programme, giving an accurate description, there was sufficient support from the teachers too. The props displayed were striking. The backdrop was changed according to the topics. In appreciation of the remarkable performance in the academic field and those who were regular to school, the students were facilitated. Teachers who had completed their 5 year tenure were also recognized. The Annual Report was substantiated by PPT with ample photographs
