It was a proud moment for our Scouts and Guides to be a part of the Independence Day rally this year
The 73rd Independence Day celebrations at Fort St. George in Chennai saw our Scouts and Guides taking part in the rally. It was indeed a great experience for them to walk alongside some great cadets belonging to various groups like NCC and NSS. The aim was to impart the values and spirit of patriotism through the unfolding events marking one of the greatest occasions of our nation.
Students of class IX, San Academy Kamakoti Nagar, in association with Rotary Club of Chennai Infocity, conducted a blood donation camp ‘Drops Of Life’ at the campus on 17.08.2019. The enthusiasm shown by the students along with San Academy Scouts and Guides was really overwhelming. The volunteers had given their positive support and help in organizing the blood camp.
An event of such nature was held in the campus for the first time and the response was quite gratifying. 35 units of blood was collected and sent to Cancer Institute. A Certificate of appreciation, donation card, and refreshment was given to each donor as a token of gratitude.
The effort taken by the students was well appreciated.
Students were taken out for a rally with all safety measures during school hours. Students prepared charts for the rally on the topics – Save water, Inovation for Girl’s Education, Women Empowerment, Fighting Carbon Footprint and Save Earth from Plastic.
The Chief Guest of the Day Mr. Arun Krishna founder of EFI (Environmentalist Foundation of India) gave a very inspirational speech which was heart rending.
