Our typical day of learning begins with the school assembly. We at San completely understand the significance and importance of this particular element. School Assembly is important for both students and teachers. Assemblies are designed to be informative on various topics, current affairs and special world days or can be entertaining with cultural performances that showcase and encourage the talents of the children.
We are thrilled to enlighten you with an extraordinary event that was hosted by San Academy Tambaram on UN Awareness. This event was conducted on 24th of October as a thematic assembly and children were given a platform to express their views, ideas and understanding on the topic. The program was uniquely designed and presented by children.
As we all know, On October 24,1945 United Nations officially came into existence. On this day 51 countries came together to promote peace throughout the world. It was a stepping stone for children to focus on the goals and promote peace around the world.
Children from Grade 4 were vibrant and gave an awareness speech on how United Nation was formed and the purpose behind celebrating this day. Grade 5 and 6 highlighted aim and principles of United Nations. Thought provoking presentations were made by the children. Pupils from Grade 3 exhibited their talent by singing a song on peace.
It was indeed a visual delight to watch children perform and speak confidently. The program was not only informative but entertaining as well. The students enjoyed the event with full fervor, enthusiasm and loud applause.
Every year, on 14th June, countries around the world celebrate ‘World Blood Donor Day (WBDD). The event serves to raise awareness of the need for safe blood and blood products and to thank blood donors for their life saving gifts of blood. In order to make the young minds realize the importance of donating blood, ‘World Blood Donor day’ was organized. Speech was given by the children of grade VI highlighting the importance of donating blood.
Children of grade V presented the thematic assembly on Time Management. Children gave speech on importance of time followed by dance and action song on Time Management.
Stranger Danger is not just about teaching children who or what to avoid, but also includes positive rules so that children know how to keep themselves safe. Children learned about basic rules of stranger danger.
Hard work and success was depicted by a skit performed by grade IV students. The students presented the other versions of Hare and tortoise and proved that hard work can lead us to success

Unity in diversity is the strength and power of India which has now been the most important feature identifying India. Unity in diversity has given rise to the great national integration characteristic to the country which has become the foundation of strong and prosperous India even after lots of corruption, extremism and terrorism. With the story -"The Bundle of Sticks" grade III students explained the moral of story beautifully.
Since 1994, 16th of September is annually celebrated as the International Day for the preservation for Ozone layer with a lot of enthusiasm in all the countries. This day was designated as the same by a declaration which was made by United Nations. It was done to commemorate the signing of Montreal Convention against the depletion of ozone layer in the year 2000 on 19th of December. The purpose behind this assembly was creating awareness and sensitizing the students on the importance of the Ozone layer.
International Day of the Girl Child is an international observance day declared by the United Nations.it is also called the Day of Girls and the International Day of the Girl.
October 11, 2012, was the first Day of the Girl Child. The observation supports more opportunity for girls and increases awareness of gender inequality faced by girls worldwide based upon their gender. Children explained the need of gender equality through speeches and charts
United Nations Day marks the anniversary of the UN Charter’s entry into force, and celebrates everything that the UN represents and has achieved since its establishment in 1945.Students of Grade III and IV introduced United Nations they talked about the history and purpose behind this organization children represented beautiful charts and sang a "peace song".
