Libraries are the best way to inculcate the reading habit in children. San Academy organised a field trip for the Senior KG students to the Anna Centenary Library, which is South Asia’s largest and best managed library in Chennai. It is a reader’s paradise. The major attraction of the library is the children’s section, with fun filled theme-based reading area with multimedia kits and story books. Our little book lovers enjoyed sitting under the artificial tree and read colourful picture books and fairy tales. Teachers read out stories and poems to the kids. They also taught the students the basic library rules. Children had an amazing time at the library.
To give hands on experience related to the theme ‘Veggie View’ our Junior KG students were taken to the nearby plant nursery ‘JSP Gardens’
The objective of the trip is to make the children inculcate the love for the environment, importance of plants and to relish the beauty of nature. Students were briefed about various types of plants. Children observed and explored variety of shrubs, cactus, climbers, creepers, herbs, fruits, vegetables and colourful flowers. This field trip enlightened the children towards caring for the environment and the importance of planting more trees.
To give an experience outside the daily school activities, teachers of Nursery organised a field trip to Fun 2 Play,an indoor amusement centre. The place was decorated with colourful and vibrant pictures. Children enjoyed all the fun rides, especially the minion spaceship and the ride on monkey and elephant. They also had endless fun riding the coin operated kiddie cars, playing arcade games and jumping on the trampoline. Children were simply astonished by the wonderful experience they had at Fun 2 Play.
